Wedding Photography & Videography FAQ's

Create Your Own Wedding Website

What Areas do you cover for Wedding Photography and Videography?

Our Wedding Photography and Videography services include Nashville and the majority of the middle Tennessee area. If you're unsure of whether we can provide wedding services at your location, give us a call, or send us an email on our "Contact Us" page.

Where can I find some of your Wedding Photo Samples?

Visit our Wedding Photography page. There we have several photos of individual weddings. Many of this website's pages also include wedding photos in slideshows near the top of each page. We can of course show you many more photos and an example of an entire wedding album (or video) with our first meeting.

Do you have a Predetermined Shot List of Photos or Video that are Included with your Wedding Packages? What about Formal Pictures?

Yes, like most Wedding Photographers (and Videographers) we have a set checklist of the photos and video shots that we typically incorporate. If there are specific shots or poses that you would like, let us know and we'll include them. With formal wedding shots, some clients have taken wedding photos from magazines or books to insure that we know what shots they would like included.

What Style of Wedding Photography do you Shoot?

We refer to our style as photojournalistic. This is much more than just candid photography or traditional shots. And although we normally include traditional and formal shots, our goal is to have a much more natural feel.

We do this by putting the Bride and Groom (and wedding party) in poses and action shots that break away from the norm. This not only helps them feel more comfortable and relaxed, but results in better photos with more natural looking smiles. After all, we want your wedding to be a fun and joyous event and one you'll cherish for the rest of your life.

Of course, let's face it. Like any event that is pressed against a time schedule, there can be moments of stress. But we want to reassure you that this is YOUR day!! So relax, laugh and embellish it.

How Long do the Formal Shots take for Wedding Photography Packages?

There are a lot of variables involved, including the size of the wedding party, how well it's coordinated, how many poses you would like, whether pre-ceremony shots are taken, etc. For large wedding parties these could take up to 2 hours. However, many times we can squeeze in a good session in under an hours time. But we also require time to remove our lights and equipment prior to the wedding and before most of the guests arrive. We suggest doing as many pre-ceremony wedding photos as possible so there are fewer to take directly after the wedding. When consulting with our wedding couples, we try to determine what is best for them.

Do your Wedding Photography Packages include Black and White Photos?

We currently include a mix of Color, Sepia Tones & Black and White photos with all our wedding photography packages. If you prefer one over the other, or only want color shots, let us know.

We're Planning an Outdoors Wedding, can you do this?

We absolutely love outdoor Weddings! These tend to give us a lot more freedom in our style and much greater ability to achieve the Photojournalistic shots that most of our clients prefer.

Is Video Taping the Photo Session Included with the Wedding Videography Packages?

We always include getting video shots of the photo session if it's within our time frame of the Wedding Package that you choose. We use many of the shots taken during the photo session in the "Wedding Highlights Video" which we include with all packages.

Who owns the Copyrights for Wedding Photography and/or Videography?

We release ownership of copyrights to all of our clients. We only request "fair use" of our works (as covered in our Wedding Photography and Videography Contract) for self promotional use and purposes of demonstration. This allows us to let future clients view our abilities and some of the work that we have done.

Should I have a Wedding Video?

A wedding video is like a time machine. It lets you relive your wedding day, as often as you like, anytime you want. As some have stated - It lets you attend your own wedding at your leisure, reliving the emotions and joy of the day. It is also a significant and important keepsake for your family, children, grandchildren and the generations to come.

Is Wedding Videography needed if I'm having Wedding Photos?

For many couples, both wedding photography and a wedding videography are of equal importance. Photography will always be a cherished tradition that allows you to display your memories to friends and family for the years ahead. After all, you can't frame your wedding video or carry it with you to show a friend as you can with wedding photographs. However, with a video, you CAN listen to your marriage vows, relive the sights, sounds, and emotions of your father walking you down the aisle, and watch a tear roll down your cheek as you experience your first day together as husband and wife. It's a lasting treasure that contains 30 pictures per second and includes the timeless events that took place on your special day. And with the advanced technology of today, you also have the ability to share your wedding video online, on an iPod with family & friends, or with those who may not have been able to attend.

Why Hire a Professional Wedding Photographer or Videographer?

Professionals not only have the needed experience but traditionally have much higher-end equipment. Hiring an amateur may be cheaper, but usually lacks both of these and the quality can be significantly reduced. A professional will also typically allow a certain amount of time for editing and production, resulting in a much faster turn around time for delivery of the final product to the Bride and Groom. Experience is not only necessary for the technical aspects of wedding videography and photography, but for professionalism, as arriving on time, knowing which shots are important and knowing how to stay cool if a stressful situation occurs. Like a professional wedding photographer, a trained and experienced wedding videographer is definitely worth the money.

What Questions should I ask for those I Intend to Hire?

1) How many years of experience and how many weddings have they shot?
2) What's their wedding photography and wedding video style?
3) Who owns the copyrights for the work that they produce?
4) Do they have samples or a portfolio?
5) How old and what type of equipment do they use?
6) Who produces and edits your wedding? - the person you're speaking with, or a hired assistant?
7) Do they have another wedding scheduled the same day as yours?
8) Do they have package deals or discounts which could help save you money?

What about Wedding Contracts?

A wedding contract should include the contact information of the one you’re hiring. You should also be provided with a cell phone number where you can reach someone on your wedding day. Likewise, you should provide your cell number or coordinator's contact information in case of unexpected circumstances. Also, make sure your wedding contract lists what's included in your package, including your deposit amount and the total costs of the Packages you've chosen.

Are you the Right Choice for my Wedding?

Wedding Photography and Wedding Videography are both art forms and vary from one professional to the next. There are many Nashville wedding photographers and videographers to choose from. It's important to view samples of who you intend to hire and meet one-on-one with the person that will be shooting and producing your wedding photographs and your wedding video. Make sure that their style and personalities match your wants and needs.
